Description
This print features one of Arches National Park’s most iconic formations — Balanced Rock — rising like a sandstone sculpture against a bright desert sky. Balanced Rock is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Arches National Park. It stands at roughly 128 feet tall, with the upper boulder weighing an estimated 3,600 tons — all held in place by erosion-carved sandstone that will one day collapse as weathering continues. Like many features in Arches, it exists only temporarily on a geological timescale, carved by uplift, freeze-thaw cycles, and countless years of wind and water.
